Un clone hypervirulent sp\u00e9cifique au nouveau-n\u00e9, le clone CC17, est responsable \u00e0 lui seul de pr\u00e8s de 80% des cas de m\u00e9ningites et de la quasi-totalit\u00e9 des infections tardives qui surviennent au-del\u00e0 d\u2019une semaine de vie et majoritairement entre trois semaines et deux mois. La voie d&#8217;invasion et les facteurs impliqu\u00e9s dans la physiopathologie de l\u2019infection \u00e0 SGB CC17 sont encore mal connus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans ces travaux publi\u00e9s au sein dela revue eLIFE, c\u2019est l&#8217;impact des hormones maternelles que sont l&#8217;estradiol (E2) et la progest\u00e9rone (P4) qui impr\u00e8gnent le f\u0153tus tout au long de la grossesse et les premiers mois de la vie du nouveau-n\u00e9 qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des approches exp\u00e9rimentales multiples reproduisant l\u2019infection n\u00e9onatale humaine, les chercheurs ont montr\u00e9 dans un mod\u00e8le murin que les concentrations \u00e9lev\u00e9es d\u2019estradiol (E2) et de progest\u00e9rone (P4) retrouv\u00e9es au-del\u00e0 de 7 jours apr\u00e8s la naissance favorisaient sp\u00e9cifiquement la s\u00e9v\u00e9rit\u00e9 de la m\u00e9ningite \u00e0 SGB CC17 apr\u00e8s une infection orale. Ces travaux d\u00e9montrent que le SGB CC17 franchit la barri\u00e8re intestinale via les cellules M (cellules \u00e9pith\u00e9liales sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es permettant le passage des bact\u00e9ries ou d&#8217;antig\u00e8nes) dans un processus d\u00e9pendant dela prot\u00e9ine de surface Srr2 sp\u00e9cifique du clone hypervirulent CC17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfin, ils montrent que les concentrations d\u2019estradiol (E2) et de progest\u00e9rone (P4) retrouv\u00e9es chez le nouveau-n\u00e9 au-del\u00e0 de 7 jours de vie favorisent la diff\u00e9renciation des cellules M etle franchissement de la barri\u00e8re intestinale par ce streptocoque, ce qui apporte pour la premi\u00e8re fois une explication \u00e0 la susceptibilit\u00e9 tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re des nouveau-n\u00e9s vis \u00e0 vis de cette bact\u00e9rie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces r\u00e9sultats constituent une avanc\u00e9e majeure dans lacompr\u00e9hension de la physiopathologie des infections n\u00e9onatales tardives \u00e0 streptocoque du groupe B et ouvrent la voie aux recherches futures portant sur la physiopathologie des infections n\u00e9onatales dues \u00e0 d&#8217;autres pathog\u00e8nes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>eLife 2019;8:e48772<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-179","publication","type-publication","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
