This small clinical trial is being conducted within the neonatology and pediatrics departments of Robert Debr\u00e9 Hospital, before an envisioned deployment in other centers. The neuroimaging device, called the &#8220;Conexus&#8221; system, uses functional ultrasound imaging (fUS), a technique developed at the <em>Physics for Medicine Paris<\/em> laboratory, and represents a new research-oriented medical device jointly produced by <em>Physics for Medicine Paris<\/em> and the company <em>Iconeus<\/em>. It allows for the mapping of brain activity through subtle changes in cerebral blood volume, based on the principle of neurovascular coupling. It resembles an ultrasound scanner but uses different image reconstruction and signal processing techniques, which give it its unique properties. <strong>Our research hypothesis:<\/strong> <strong>evaluating brain functional connectivity using fUS imaging (fC-fUS imaging) is feasible in newborns and could ultimately reveal early biomarkers of perinatal brain disorders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CONEXUS aims to demonstrate the potential of fC-fUS to characterize and monitor brain functions, understand the developing brain, and identify biomarkers of neurological impairments very early in life.
